ACTIVITY 2025
The program includes four distinct music projects, featuring one masterclass for strings and one for conductors. All activities are free of charge. Please note that auditions are open exclusively to students from Thai music institutions. The deadline for submitting the application form is March 5, 2025.

Project 1: BRING ME TO LOVE - A ROCK OPERA
INSTRUMENTS
Pop Instruments: Electric Guitar, Electric Bass, Drums, Keyboards
Repertoire: One cover piece and one improvisation
Rock/Pop Vocalists (Male & Female):
Repertoire: One rock cover and one jazz standard or cover.
Implementation Period: July 23–27

Concert Venue: Thailand Cultural Center, August 27th
Description:
This project focuses on creating a collaborative rock opera to promote creativity and teamwork, involving young Thai and Italian artists from both classical and pop music disciplines. The opera, approximately 70 minutes long, will consist of 16–18 pieces, divided between instrumental sections and songs. The dramatic structure is split into two parts: a lament on the lack of brotherhood and a celebration of universal love. The project is directed by Damiano Giuranna, with composer Emiliano Manna and faculty from partner universities.
Project 2: SYMPHONIC PROJECT
INSTRUMENTS
Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
Woodwinds: Flute, Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon
Brass: Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Bass Tuba
Percussion: Timpani, Other Percussion
Repertoire: Two pieces from different historical periods
(Timpani and percussion players should prepare two contrasting orchestral excerpts)
Implementation Period: August 1–6

Concert Venue: Prince Mahidol Hall, August 6th
Description:
The World Youth Orchestra Foundation will bring together students from various nations to perform Antonín DvoĆák’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World” and the Beethoven violin concerto performed by violinist M° Francesco Manara, concertmeister at La Scala Theatre in Milan, Italy. This project aims to foster unity among different nationalities through cultural exchange and musical collaboration among young musicians.

Project 3: MASTERCLASS FOR STRINGS
Implementation Period: July 29–31
Venue: To be confirmed
Participants will attend free masterclasses with violinist M° Francesco Manara, concertmeister at La Scala Theatre in Milan, Italy. A ranking list will be created following the review of applications.
Project 4: MASTERCLASS FOR CONDUCTORS
Implementation Period: July 29–31
Venue: Mahidol Music College
Participants will have the opportunity to work closely with Maestro Damiano Giuranna, conductor and founder of the World Youth Orchestra, for three days. You must apply through the online google form link and on July 29th there will be a live audition for all applicants. A ranking list will be established on that day in order to select active students and auditors
Repertoire of the masterclass: L. van Beethoven (Symphony no. 7), W. A. Mozart (Symphony No. 29 in A major, K.201)
ELIGIBILITY, TERMS, AND CONDITIONS
Applicants must be aged 18 to 28. Exceptions may be considered at the sole discretion of the artistic jury.

In the form you will be requested to fill in your personal datas and to upload links to videos (e.g., YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo, etc.).
REPERTOIRE
Repertoire for pop instruments and voices is two pieces chosen one from a cover and one from an improvisation. Applicants shall play electric Guitar, Electric Bass, Drums, Keyboards or be singers (male, female).
Repertoire for classical instruments is two pieces from two different historical periods (Violin, Viola, Cello, Double bass, Flute, Ottavino, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Trumpet, Horns, Trombone, Bass tuba). Timpani and percussion shall prepare two orchestral excerpts of different styles.
Repertoire for conductors in order to attend the masterclass is two music pieces from any repertoire.
Note: you can either send us one link with two music pieces, or two links with one music piece each. Recordings may include or omit piano accompaniment.
